MEDICATION, VISION, AND DENTAL ASSISTANCE

 

 In order to receive medication, vision, and/or dental reimbursement money, a veteran or surviving spouse must submit an application to the ACVSO.

   

Application requests for assistance with medication, vision, and/or dental are made eligible to veterans, spouses, dependents, or a surviving spouse. 

   

“Surviving Spouse” must provide documentation of marriage to the veteran. (Marriage License, DD214, and Death Certificate)

   

In seeking medication reimbursement from the ACVSO, the Veteran or Surviving spouse must complete an ACVSC Medication Application, and provide valid receipts and other documentation of the prescription which is no more than 60 days old. 

   

In seeking dental and/or vision reimbursement from the ACVSO, the veteran or surviving spouse must complete an ACVSO Medication Application and provide valid receipts and other documentation of the medical or dental bill which is no more than 30 days old.

Medical Reimbursements may not exceed $300 per fiscal year for a single person or $500 for a household. The ACVSC holds the right to increase or decrease this amount as seen fit to best serve the veteran community. Based on budget availability, the ACVSO reserves the right to implement income guidelines.

   

Reimbursement for glasses may not exceed $150.00 and up to five (5) family members per two-year cycle. The ACVSC holds the right to increase or decrease this amount as seen fit to best serve the veteran community. Based on budget availability, the ACVSO reserves the right to implement income guidelines.

   

Applicant must be a resident of Athens County for at least 90 days.

     

Checks for medication reimbursements will be mailed to the Client’s address of record unless an exception is approved by a majority vote of the Commission.
