Prescription Reimbursement

In order to receive medication reimbursement money, a veteran or widow must submit application to the ACVSO.

a.     Application requests for assistance with medication is made eligible to veterans, spouses, dependents or a widow. 

b.     Widowed applicants must provide documentation of marriage to veterans. (Marriage License, DD214, and Death Certificate)

c.     In seeking medication reimbursement from the ACVSO, the Veteran or Widow must complete an ACVSC Medication Application, and provide valid receipts and other documentation of the prescription which is no more than 30 days old. [See Application]

d.     Reimbursement may not exceed $300 per fiscal year for a single person or $500 for a household. The ACVSC holds the right to increase or decrease this amount as seen fit to best serve the veteran community.

e.     Applicant must be a resident of Athens County for at least 90 days.

f.      Checks for medication reimbursements will be mailed to the Client’s address of record unless an exception is approved by the majority vote of the Commission.
