FLAG POLES

  1. The veteran must complete the Flag Pole Application provided by the Athens County Veterans Service Commission. (ACVSC)

  2. The veteran must have received an Honorable or Under Honorable Conditions discharge.

  3. The veteran must meet the ORC 5901 definition of a veteran.

  4. The veteran must be an Athens County Resident.

  5. Veterans’ primary residence must be in Athens County

  6. The veteran must provide proof of homeownership through property tax documents.

  7. A flag pole must be erected at Veterans’ Primary residence within Athens County.

  8. The veteran will be responsible for the placement of the Flag Pole.

  9. The veteran is eligible for one (1) flag pole in a lifetime.  In the event that the flag pole is damaged beyond use due to inclement weather, the veteran must return the complete pole and flag to receive a replacement.

  10. The veteran is eligible for one (1) Porch Flag Kit in a lifetime.  In the event that the flag pole is damaged beyond use due to inclement weather, the veteran must return the complete pole and flag to receive a replacement.

  11. Veteran is eligible for one (1) 3x5 replacement flag every two years.
